Do you have a story to tell or photo to post? If so, your submission will be moderated to ensure consistency and that it meets these guidelines:

• Your submission must relate to the families of John & Agnes Darroch or of Archie & Janet Robertson. I.e.: we will accept a story about anyone identified in Descendants or the Ancestors tabs.

• To keep the site manageable, we will only post stories or photos of descendants within four generations of John & Agnes Darroch or Archie & Janet Robertson (i.e.: their great-grandchildren.) 

• When your story mentions others, please check with them or their descendants to verify the facts or glean additional insights about your story. This increases accuracy and gives multiple perspectives. It also reduces the risk of offending someone, even by a story you think is in good taste.

• Know the line between fact and fiction, and ensure the reader knows it, too. These posts are based on true stories, and we expect references to support them. You are welcome to tell the stories as creative nonfiction, but "creative" does not mean changing the facts to spice up the story. It means we research social history and apply it to our ancestors. Dialogue may be inserted to add realism and character. No one—including our ancestors—would remember their conversations verbatim. Yet there is no doubt they had them. Therefore, it is fine to recreate dialogue to animate the stories as long as we distinguish where the speculation begins and ends. Stories should be both interesting and based on facts.

John and Agnes had 15 children (two died young) and 72 grandchildren.  Archie and Janet had six children and nine grandchildren. There are lots of biographies and stories to write. If you would like to submit one about your ancestor, please let us know on the form below.
